An intense and focused individual of great personal power, with an innate leadership presence, and the ability to project an honestly respectable sense of menace toward the enemy. |

| Shockwave Led the Decepticons for 4 million years in Megatron's absence. Never wavered from his assigned task, and more than lived up to the trust Megatron placed in him. |
Motormaster Leader of the Stunticons. Beneath a rough-edged exterior, he is a loyal and courageous team leader whose first words were a declaration of allegiance to Megatron. |
Onslaught Leader of the Combaticons. Though he had his clashes with High Command at times, he eventually became a dedicated and brilliant group leader. |

| Straxus Preceded Megatron as Decepticon leader. At the time a typical short-sighted warlord, his ousting from command has given him opportunity to re-think his loyalties, and he now shows promise as a regional ruler. |
Megastorm Though relatively young and inexperienced, he took over command of a small group of Decepticons while his brother Galvatron was incapacitated, and implemented some innovative ideas of his own. |
Cyclonus As subcommander to G1 Galvatron, it was he who was really the functional leader and inspiration to the warriors. His loyalty to an insane commander could be considered misguided, but this was in fact part of the extreme honor and dignity that characterized his nature. Any success and even survival for the Decepticons during this bleak era, can be attributed directly to Cyclonus' ceaseless efforts. |

| Galvatron A raving psychotic who had no place calling himself a Decepticon leader. Often did more damage to his own troops than the enemy did, and by extension did more damage to the Decepticon cause and morale than the most directed Autobot assault could ever accomplish. Not to be confused with BW2 Galvatron. |
Scorponok Anyone who would willingly give up control of his mental processes to a mere humanoid organic, lacks the self-respect and integrity necessary to be a Decepticon leader - or for that matter, a Decepticon. He repeatedly and disgustingly displayed this fundamental weakness of character - whimpering to and grovelling for favor from, of all creatures, Optimus Prime. |
The Pretender to the Name The single biggest disgrace ever to aspire to delusions of command. A reprehensible coward, he seldom led his troops in battle, instead affecting a buffoonish air of superiority. He was unable to keep order among his warriors by means other than dumb brute force, since he earned not one iota of their respect. Fancying himself to be clever and pulling all the strings behind the scenes, his brief career in fact flaunted some of the most blatant stupidity ever to be displayed in the Decepticon ranks. |

| Overlord Not exactly overwhelmingly bad, but showed no true qualifications for command either. One suspects he was simply the biggest and strongest at the time. One might also question his dignity and strength of will, as this was another individual who gave over much of his vital functions to mere organic powermaster partners, and this is an act highly unbecoming of a Decepticon leader. |
Bludgeon A true joke of a Decepticon leader if ever there was one. Lost in weird superstitions and mysticobabble, he had neither the command presence nor the presence of mind to lead a species of galactic conquerors. |
Ratbat Hey, nothing against Ratbat. He's one of Soundwave's creations, and is a highly skilled scout and spy. But he's not by any stretch of the imagination Decepticon leadership material. Just kind-of ignore that silly comic-book business. |

It should be noted that while Starscream is not Decepticon leadership material, no matter how much he's tried to convince himself of it, he is an excellent Air Commander. And as much as he's often decried as a traitor, it should also be noted that he has never turned against the Decepticon cause. Therefore, though he doesn't belong among the top command figures, he also doesn't belong in the Dishonorable Mentions. |

It has also been suggested that Soundwave should be among the leadership ranks here, but in truth he is not a command figure by nature. He is in fact something even more exceptional. He is the equivalent of what, in a tribal society, would have been called a "shaman". Certainly the leader makes the decisions, but even he respects the shaman and goes to him for advice.
